5 Ways to Include

Family + Friends

When Eloping

One of the top reasons couples struggle to elope is because of guilt they might feel for not inviting family and friends OR the pressure they feel from family and friends.

While I understand that it’s hard to make everyone happy, I want to provide some ways to show your family and friends love and support as you plan a day that is aligned and authentic to you.

01.

Have family and friends write letters for you to read together on your elopement day.

02.

Have a family or friend officiate or to have as your witness

03.

Set-up a live stream or video the elopement

04.

Similar to #1, your guests can leave photos and messages through a virtual guest book such as the Joy app.

05.

Allow them to still be a part of the planning process. This could include having them come dress/tux shopping, having a send-off party or engagement party, or having your best friends help create your bouquet(s) or boutonniere(s).

*Bonus*

Send out “WE ELOPED!” cards including a favorite image of your elopement day. You can add a sweet message thanking them for their continued support on your life journey to let them know that though they weren’t physically there, you were thinking of them and love them.
